Ottawa to invest $10M to plan Canada Soccer National Training Centre
The federal government has pledged approximately $10 million to support planning for a new national training centre for Canada Soccer, with the announcement made in Vancouver.
Federal Infrastructure Minister Gregor Robertson joined Minister of State for Sport Adam van Koeverden to unveil the funding. Officials say the proposed campus will feature specialized facilities for high-performance athlete development, while also providing spaces for community use.
The funding follows a broader federal commitment of $660 million over five years to support national sports organizations facing financial challenges. The training centre is expected to include both elite training environments and accessible recreational facilities.
