Costco Recall: Lactantia Milk pulled over excess vitamin levels

Lactalis Canada has issued a recall for a specific batch of Lactantia UltraPur 2% Milk with 20g Protein and Lactose Free (2-litre cartons) sold at Costco after discovering the product contained higher-than-recommended levels of vitamins A and D.

The affected milk can be identified by the expiry date of June 22, 2026, and item number 1987085. According to the company, the product was sold during May and June.

Lactalis said the recall was prompted by an over-fortification of vitamins A and D that exceeds recommended daily intake limits and could pose a food safety risk.

Consumers are advised not to sell, serve, distribute, or consume the recalled milk. Anyone experiencing symptoms or concerns related to the product should seek medical advice.

Customers who purchased the affected milk can return it to any Costco warehouse for a full refund.

The recall applies only to the specified product and lot number and does not affect any other Lactantia UltraPur products.
