Wanted Toronto Woman Arrested After Dog Attack

Toronto police have arrested a 40-year-old woman following a serious dog attack in the Avenue Road and Roxborough Street area.

Police said in previous new release that the suspect was with her off-leash dogs in the off-leash enclosure when her two dogs escaped an off-leash enclosure at a nearby park on September 10 and attacked a person who was walking their leashed dog near the off-leash enclosure. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, while their dog sustained life-threatening injuries.

Police said in an update on Sunday that Tanychia Black of Toronto was arrested September 13 and faces charges including criminal negligence causing bodily harm, multiple offences under the Dog Owners’ Liability Act, and obstructing a peace officer.

The two dogs involved remain missing. Police are warning the public not to approach them if they are spotted and are asking anyone with information to contact police.
