Two charged, third wanted after Dundas Park shooting

Hamilton Police have arrested two men and are searching for a third following a shooting investigation in Dundas.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire shortly before 7 p.m. on September 4 in the area of John Prentice Park, near Renata Court. Police located three males near a wooded area of the park. Two were arrested nearby, while the third fled the scene.

The Shooting Response Team, with assistance from Divisional Criminal Investigations, took over the investigation and determined that a firearm had been discharged multiple times.

On September 8, investigators executed a search warrant at a Hamilton residence and seized several firearms, ammunition, armoured plating and tactical equipment.

A 27-year-old Oakville man and a 25-year-old Thornbury man have each been charged with Careless Use of a Firearm and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.

A 25-year-old Dundas man has also been identified and is wanted on charges of Careless Use of a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm and Reckless Discharge of a Firearm.
