Seven fake passports seized at Toronto Pearson, Caledon resident charged

A resident of Caledon is facing charges after authorities uncovered multiple fraudulent passports at Toronto Pearson International Airport.

According to the Canada Border Services Agency, the passports were discovered concealed inside sandals during the inspection of a 1,600-kilogram shipment arriving from Nigeria. The shipment had been flagged for secondary examination, where officers located the hidden documents.

Officials reported that seven fraudulent passports were seized, including five from the Republic of Gambia and two from South Africa.

All documents bore the same photograph of a male individual but featured different names and inconsistent biographical details, indicating they had been forged.

Following the discovery, officers arrested 44-year-old Nnenna Oketa of Caledon, who has been charged with knowingly possessing forged passports.
