Peel Police seek suspect in three Square One robberies targeting electronics shoppers

Peel Regional Police are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with three robberies involving customers leaving an electronics store at Square One Shopping Centre in Mississauga.

The latest incident happened on September 3, shortly after 5 p.m., when a person was walking to their vehicle in the mall’s parking garage. Police say an unidentified suspect approached the victim and forcibly stole electronic products they had recently purchased. The victim suffered significant injuries and was taken to hospital.

Investigators have identified two other robberies that may be linked to the same suspect. The incidents took place between May 9 and June 27. In both cases, the suspect allegedly approached victims at their vehicles in the parking garage and forcibly took recently purchased electronic products. One of those victims suffered minor injuries.

Police believe the suspect may be following customers who purchase products from an electronics store before targeting them in the parking garage.

The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately six feet tall, with a thin build and weighing about 215 pounds. He has short black hair and dark brown eyes and is known to wear medical masks and gloves.

Peel Police are reminding shoppers to remain alert when leaving shopping centres and to be aware of their surroundings, especially when walking to their vehicles.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect, has information about the robberies or may have experienced a similar encounter is asked to contact investigators at 905-453-2121, extension 1133.
