Ottawa Police Officer Charged with Impaired Driving

The Ottawa Police Service has charged one of its officers with impaired driving-related offences following an off-duty incident.

Police said Constable Mathieu Boucher, 41, was charged with driving with blood-alcohol level over the legal limit. The charges stem from an alleged incident that occurred on June 27, 2026.

Boucher remains an active member of the Ottawa Police Service but has been reassigned to administrative duties and is not currently working in a frontline patrol role.

The OPS said all officers are expected to maintain a high standard of conduct both on and off duty, and that their actions must reflect the trust and values of the community they serve.
