One Suspect Charged, Another Outstanding After Double Stabbing in Mississauga

Peel Regional Police have arrested one man and are searching for a second suspect following a double stabbing in Mississauga on weekend.

Police say officers responded around 5 p.m. Saturday, August 29, to a parking lot near Dundas Street West and Parkerhill Road after reports of a dispute. Officers found two adult men suffering from stab wounds and were taken to hospital with serious injuries. Both are now in stable condition.

Police arrested 30-year-old Ali Halimi of Mississauga, who has been charged with assault.

A second male suspect, who police believe stabbed the victims and may still be carrying the weapon, remains wanted for attempted murder. He is being described as Middle Eastern, 25 to 35 years old, with a thin build, medium complexion, thinning brown hair and an unshaven appearance.

Police say he was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black Nike sweatpants, a black cross-body bag and white-and-grey Air Jordan shoes.

Police consider the suspect armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him is urged not to approach and to call 911 immediately.
