One dead, several injured in Vaughan two-vehicle crash

York Regional Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision in Vaughan that left one person dead and several others seriously injured.

The crash happened around 7:40 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, near Jane Street and Brandon Gate Drive.

Police say a yellow vintage sport coupe carrying two people collided with a black SUV carrying three occupants.

The passenger in the sport coupe, a 34-year-old man from Stoney Creek, was pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts by first responders. The driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

All three occupants of the SUV were also transported to a trauma centre. One passenger remains in life-threatening condition, while the other two suffered serious injuries.

The York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit is appealing for witnesses who have not yet spoken with investigators, as well as anyone with dashcam footage from the area at the time of the collision.
