Man dies after wheelchair-accessible taxi collision in Ajax

A 65-year-old man has died after being seriously injured in a collision involving a wheelchair-accessible taxi and another vehicle in Ajax.

The crash happened on Monday, September 14, 2026, at approximately 4:35 p.m. in the area of Bayly Street East and Clayton Road.

The man was a passenger in the wheelchair-accessible taxi. He was transported to a Toronto-area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Durham Regional Police Traffic Services Branch and Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene and are investigating the circumstances of the collision.
