Hamilton Man Charged in Voyeurism Investigation Involving Hidden Cameras
A 40-year-old man from Hamilton has been arrested and charged in connection with an ongoing voyeurism investigation, according to Hamilton Police Service.
Police say the investigation was launched on May 2, 2026, after a witness came forward with video recordings allegedly involving the accused. A preliminary review of the materials revealed multiple recordings showing individuals in private settings, captured allegedly without their knowledge or consent.
Investigators believe the footage was obtained using concealed recording devices placed in areas where individuals had a reasonable expectation of privacy. The videos are believed to span nearly two decades, from 2007 to 2025. Authorities have not yet identified all of the individuals appearing in the recordings.
Jason Machado, 40, has been charged with three counts of voyeurism contrary to Section 162 of the Criminal Code. Police have also seized several electronic devices, which are currently undergoing forensic examination as the investigation continues. Officials say there are concerns that additional victims may be involved. Photographs of the accused have been released in an effort to identify anyone who may have been affected.
Anyone with information, or who may have had contact with the accused in circumstances involving an expectation of privacy, is urged to contact Detective Constable Zach Walters of the Division 30 Criminal Investigations Division at 905-546-8968 or by email at CID30@hamiltonpolice.ca.
