Four charged following Durham-Toronto gun and drug Investigation
Four individuals are facing multiple firearm, drug and violent offence charges following a joint investigation by the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) and the Toronto Police Service.
The investigation, dubbed Project Vista, was launched by DRPS in April 2026 after two victims were allegedly threatened and assaulted using a firearm.
On June 3, 2026, investigators, working alongside the Toronto Police Service Gun and Gang Task Force, executed a search warrant at a residence in Toronto. Police say officers seized drugs, ammunition and a prohibited firearm magazine.
A second search warrant was executed the following day at a residence in Oshawa, where several suspects were arrested without incident. During the search, officers allegedly recovered a loaded firearm, quantities of cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, fentanyl and hydromorphone, along with drug trafficking paraphernalia and Canadian currency.
As a result of the investigation, Dane Fairclough, 32, of Oshawa, faces charges including assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, pointing a firearm and forcible confinement.
Baldwin Oswald Clarke, 35, of Oshawa, is charged with several firearm-related offences, including possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, possession of a firearm while prohibited, and five counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Andria Schwab, 42, of Oshawa, is charged with forcible confinement, assault causing bodily harm and five counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Junior Ivan McKnight, 55, of Clarington, is charged with assault causing bodily harm and five counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Please note that these charges have not been proven in court.
All four accused were held for bail hearings.
