Brampton Man Arrested in Connection With Series of Retail Robberies
Investigators with the Central Robbery Bureau of Peel Regional Police have arrested a 22-year-old Brampton man in connection with a series of alleged retail robberies across the city.
According to the information in a news release by police, the alleged incidents occurred between Aug. 14 and Aug. 24, when the suspect allegedly targeted five retail businesses in Brampton.
According to investigators, the suspect entered each establishment, allegedly brandished a large knife and demanded money from employees.
Following an investigation, police identified the suspect as Teepinder Singh Ghuman, 22, of Brampton. He was arrested on Aug. 29.
Ghuman has been charged with:
Five counts of robbery
Six counts of disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence
One count of attempt to commit an indictable offence
He was held for a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
Police are continuing to investigate and are asking anyone with information about the incidents to contact investigators with the Central Robbery Bureau.
