32-year-old man found dead In Port Perry, suspect charged

Durham Regional Police have identified the man who was found dead in Port Perry as 32-year-old Taylor John Frey.

Frey’s death marks Durham Region’s fourth homicide of 2026.

Police were called to the area of Water and Mary streets at around 8 a.m. Tuesday, where Frey was found with traumatic injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following an investigation, police arrested 33-year-old Ryan Bullock later that day and charged him with second-degree murder.

Police say the incident was isolated and there is no concern for public safety.

The charge has not been proven in court.
