27-Year-Old Man Charged in Child Exploitation Investigation in Toronto

Toronto police say thay have arrested and charged a 27-year-old Toronto man following an alleged online child sexual exploitation material investigation.

According to a news release by police, the Toronto Police Service’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit began the investigation in September this year after receiving a report that a social media user had allegedly shared child sexual abuse and exploitation material across social media and messaging platforms.

Police executed a search warrant yesterday, September 10, in the area of Kipling Avenue and Lake Shore Boulevard West, where they arrested 27-year-old Navid Mohammed of Toronto.

Mohammed has been charged with accessing, possessing and making available child sexual abuse and exploitation material.

He is scheduled to appear at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. in Room 107.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Toronto police at 416-808-8500. Online exploitation can also be reported anonymously through Canada’s National Tipline for Reporting the Online Sexual Exploitation of Children at Cybertip.ca.

Police are also reminding parents and caregivers to remain vigilant when it comes to children’s use of the internet and electronic devices and to take steps to help keep children safe online.
