12 Arrested Following Dangerous Guelph Homecoming Gathering

The Guelph Police Service say that their investigators have arrested 12 people in connection with dangerous behaviour during an unsanctioned Homecoming gathering on Chancellors Way on September 26.

According to the police, individuals range in age from 17 to 21 and have each been charged with assault with a weapon, causing a disturbance and two counts of mischief. One man faces an additional charge of assaulting a peace officer with a weapon.

All 12 have been released and are scheduled to appear in court.

Police say the investigation remains ongoing, with investigators working to identify several more individuals captured in videos from the gathering. Additional charges may follow.

Guelph Police Chief Gord Cobey thanked members of the public for providing tips, photos and videos that helped investigators identify suspects.

Anyone with information, video footage or who recognizes individuals police are seeking is asked to contact police.
