Warm weekend ahead for Calgary before showers return Sunday

Calgarians can experience a hot and sunny weekend, with temperatures climbing into the upper 20s before the weather turns more unsettled on Sunday.

Environment and Climate Change Canada is forecasting a high of 26°C on Friday, with sunshine developing after some morning cloud. Humid conditions will make it feel closer to 29°C, while hazy skies are expected through the day.

The heat will build further on Saturday, which is forecast to be the warmest day of the weekend. Temperatures are expected to reach 28°C, with a humidex of 31 under mainly sunny skies. Cloudy periods are expected to move into the region Saturday night.

The weather pattern is expected to shift on Sunday, bringing a mix of sun and cloud and a 60 per cent chance of showers during the day and into the evening. Despite the increased chance of wet weather, temperatures are still expected to reach 28°C, keeping conditions well above seasonal norms.

Anyone planning outdoor activities this weekend should be prepared for hot conditions, stay hydrated, and keep an eye on the forecast as shower chances increase on Sunday.
