Five-day stretch of unsettled weather ahead for Calgary

Calgarians can expect a prolonged stretch of wet weather, with isolated showers beginning Friday afternoon.

Friday will start with a mix of sun and cloud before isolated showers move into the area around 2 p.m. Winds are also expected to strengthen late in the morning, reaching 40 to 50 km/h and persisting through the remainder of the day.

Saturday is expected to begin on a pleasant note with morning sunshine, but forecasters say there is again a chance of isolated showers during the afternoon.

Environment Canada has not issued any significant weather warnings at this time, but residents planning outdoor activities this weekend should be prepared for changing conditions and periods of rain.

With showers expected on multiple days and steadier precipitation arriving late Saturday, the city is looking at a five-day stretch of generally unsettled weather before conditions begin to improve next week.
