Calgary Terry Fox run set for sunday to support cancer research

Calgarians will lace up their running shoes Sunday, September 20, for the annual Terry Fox Run, raising funds to support cancer research across Canada.

The Calgary event will take place at the Confluence Historic Site and Parkland at 950 9 Avenue S.E. Opening remarks are scheduled for 9:40 a.m., followed by the run at 10 a.m.

Jonathan Moser, chair of the Calgary Terry Fox Run Organizing Committee, will be among the local organizers participating in the event.

The annual fundraiser continues Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope legacy and his goal of supporting cancer research.

The Terry Fox Foundation says it engages more than 20,000 volunteers and 3.5 million students through nearly 10,000 fundraising events across Canada each year.

In February 2026, the foundation reached a major milestone, surpassing $1 billion raised for cancer research since Terry Fox began his historic journey.
