stabbing death of 23-year-old Kalwinder aka Kris Thind outside night club Cabana Lounge in Vancouver on Jan 27, 2018.
28-year-old Sukhjit Sidhu was arrested and charged with second degree murder on May 28, 2025, and remains in custody.
According to police, there was an altercation in the club which spilled out to the street. Vancouver police investigators believe that Thind tried to intervene when he was stabbed and killed.
Several people fled following the stabbing, including the suspect, who was not on scene when VPD officers arrived. VPD appealed for witnesses, reviewed video, and ultimately secured sufficient evidence to identify and subsequently arrest the suspect.
Sidhu’s next court appearance is scheduled for June 25, 2025, at Vancouver provincial court.
